The president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly went down the memory lane and posted an amazing moment from his glorious career. Sourav Ganguly remembered his maiden Test century on his debut match against England at the iconic Lord’s cricket ground.
On Wednesday, Sourav Ganguly, who is fondly called as ‘Dada’ by his teammates and fans, made everyone nostalgic as he shared a picture via his Instagram account of his maiden Test century that he smashed way back in June 1996 against England and that too in their Mecca of cricket.
Weaving magic with his bat, the former skipper helped the Indian cricket team chased down a target of 344 runs with his powerful 185 runs lead. Dada walked in to bat at number 3 position after the fall of Vikram Rathour’s wicket. Sourav Ganguly smashed 31 runs off 310 balls, hitting 20 boundaries.
The match that ended up as a draw, is still remembered because of the fearless batting of Sourav Ganguly. However, Sourav Ganguly didn’t get the ‘Man of the Match’ award for his performance during the match as it went to Jack Russell.
Remembering a great time, Dada took to his Instagram and shared a picture of himself celebrating the knock from that match. Sharing the picture on his Instagram, Dada wrote:
”Fantastic Memories,”

Soon the cricket lovers hailed Ganguly for making their childhood amazing with his powerful knocks and praised his performances. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh also joined the bandwagon but only to troll Dada for his picture.
Yuvraj Singh, who made his debut under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly, came up with a funny reply asking the BCCI president to be professional. He wrote:
“Dada logo to hata lo! Your BCCI President now. Please be professional,”
