India’s ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been going through a rough patch in his professional life. Because of his inconsistent performances, Chahal even lost a place in India’s T20 World Cup squad. His exclusion from the T20 World Cup squad has left everyone surprised as he is currently the world’s no. 2 bowler in the shortest format of the game.

In fact, during the first leg of the IPL 2021, Chahal’s dismal performances have added more fuel to the fire. In the first phase of IPL 2021, Chahal picked just four wickets in seven games at an average of 47.80 and with an economy of 8.26.

Talking about his last international performance that came against Sri Lanka, though he displayed an amazing performance in the ODIs but failed to leave a mark with his performance.

Recently, in a discussion with Aakash Chopra on his YouTube Channel, Yuzvendra Chahal thanked all his loved ones and close people for being with him during his low phase. He said:

“I see people’s messages, feels good to be loved. It’s your closest ones that pick you up when you are down,”

Further, Yuzi Chahal also stated that a bad form IPL was on his mind for a long time. He also revealed how the ‘motivating words’ from his wife Dhanashree Verma helped him during his low phase. Chahal further made a point that sometimes bowlers don’t get wickets if a batter doesn’t attack in the shortest format of the game. He said:

“Bad form was playing on my mind a bit, especially after the IPL. I sat down with my wife Dhanashree who helped me. She told me that every day you won’t take wickets, it’s just a bad phase.

“I knew that I was bowling well but sometimes in T20 cricket, it’s very hard to take wickets if a batsman doesn’t attack. It affects you when you don’t have wickets to show in the column,’ he added.

Meanwhile, Chahal will be seen playing in action against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second leg of the Indian Premier League, which will kickstart from September 19, in the UAE.
