Yuzvendra Chahal Opens Up About The First Time He Met Dhoni In Dressing Room

Yuzvendra Chahal has emerged out to be one of the important players of Indian cricket team. Since he made his debut in the year 2016 against Zimbabwe, he has impressed everyone with his brilliant performances. Last year, he gained immense respect and love from the cricket lovers after his leg-spin that troubled South Africa.

Recently, Yuzvendra Chahal appeared on a show called ‘Breakfast with Champions’ which is hosted by Gaurav Kapur. Yuzvi, recalled how Dhoni made him feel comfortable during his debut series. Amidst the conversation, he narrated the memorable moment of receiving the ODI cap from MS Dhoni and how he was left in awe of MS Dhoni.

Talking about the same, he said:

“I had received the ODI cap from Mahi bhai. He is a legend and was with him for the first time. I was not even able to talk in front of him. He talks so nicely that you wonder if he is really Mahi bhai,”

Chahal also revealed that during his tour, MS Dhoni asked him to not call him ‘sir’, he said:

“During Zimbabwe tour when I met him first, I used to call him Mahi Sir. After two overs he called me and said, ‘Mahi, Dhoni, Mahendra Singh Dhoni or Bhai. Call me whatever you want’” .

This is not the first time, that Chahal has showered praises for MS Dhoni. He has time and again given the credit of his success to MS Dhoni. Chahal has an immense love and respect for captain Cool.
