India’s sensational bowler Yuzvendra Chahal’s omission from India’s playing squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 was a big shock. Yuzvendra Chahal has been India’s lead spinner in the white-ball format of the game for the past few years. He is India’s highest wicket-taker in the shortest format of the game, having scalped 63 wickets in 49 games he has played so far. Considering his records, his omission from the Indian squad raised several eyebrows.

Though the spinner has been going through a rough patch in his professional life but he bowled brilliantly during the Sri Lanka tour and seemed to have redeemed himself. But he wasn’t picked for the high-voltage tournament despite the tournament being played in spin-friendly pitches of UAE and Oman.

There’s is no doubt on the fact that just like his fans, Chahal would have been disappointed with his omission from the Indian squad. Seems, like his decision hasn’t gone down well with him, at least, his latest social-media activity indicates the same.

Recently, he gave a cheeky reply to Aakash Chopra on his Tweet, suggesting spinners who bowl quickly will get success in that UAE leg of IPL 2021. Aakash Chopra wrote:

“Picked a few trends from the first 30 games of #IPL2020 I think most will be valid this time too.
1. Win the toss-bat first
2. Pick genuine pace over medium-pacers
3. Bat cautiously in the PP overs
4. Faster spinners likely to make an impact
Agree?”

Responding to the same, Chahal took a cheeky dig at the commentator by questioning the requirement of ‘faster spinners’. He wrote:

“Faster spinner bhaiya? ???#justkidding ?”

Meanwhile, earlier Chahal had opened up about his omission from the Indian squad. Talking to Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel, Yuzvendra Chahal admitted that his bad form was getting on his nerves after a dismal campaign in his initial half of the IPL 2021. He said:

“Bad form was playing on my mind a bit, especially after the IPL. I sat down with my wife Dhanashree who helped me. She told me that every day you won’t take wickets, it’s just a bad phase,”

He added:

“I knew that I was bowling well but sometimes in T20 cricket, it’s very hard to take wickets if a batsman doesn’t attack. It affects you when you don’t have wickets to show in the column”
