The final session on day 2 of the ongoing fourth Test match at the Gabba has been washed out as team India finished the day at 62/2. Team India is currently trailing by 307 runs with the stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara holding the key.
Earlier, resuming the game on Day 2 at 274-5, Australian skipper Tim Paine and Cameron Green formed a decent partnership and together they added 98 runs for the sixth wicket.
However, the Indian bowlers put up a fantastic show at the Gabba. And just when Tim Paine and Cameron Green looked comfortable in the middle, Shardul Thakur gave team India the much-needed breakthrough and brought India back into the game with his masterclass.
But soon the Australian tail wagged once again as they added 35 runs in the next five overs. Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc tried to bring back the momentum but their partnership was soon broken with the masterclass of Washington Sundar. T Natarajan sent his next victim Josh Hazlewood back to the pavilion before the teams went in for Lunch. Australian cricket team were 369 all out after 115.2 overs.
Indian opening batsmen had a shaky start to their innings as they lost their opener Shubamn Gill early. However, Rohit Sharma joined hands with Cheteshwar Pujara and took the game forward. Rohit Sharma looked in scintillating form, however, he was dismissed before he could score his half-century.
Meanwhile, social media was soon flooded with reactions from the netizens on this. From hilarious jokes to memes, fans on Twitter started a fun fest. Fans had no complaints with rain washing out the final session of play on Day 2 of the 4th Test match and are thankingthe rain gods for the same.
