Is 2021 finally the year Royal Challengers Bangalore will lift the IPL trophy? Well, they might just do it. The Virat Kohli-led side is off to a perfect start. The team is leading the points table with two victories. After defeating Mumbai Indians in their first game, RCB defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 runs on Wednesday.
The slow tracks of MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai provided another thriller. Yesterday, it was Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians who made a solid comeback from the dead end and today it was Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore, who did exactly the same. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad learned nothing from the mistakes made by Kolkata Knight Riders last night and made similar mistakes in the game today.
Chasing the target of 150 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost Wriddhiman Saha early. However, David Warner and Manish Pandey though were cruising the chase. The duo added 83-runs with the skipper scoring 54 runs.
However, soon the collapse began. Just like Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday, Sunrisers too messed it up badly and lose wickets in quick successions. Johnny Bairstow, Manish Pandey, and Samad all fell in one over and Sunrisers were unable to score 35 runs in the last 4 overs.
Harshal Patel, once again turned out to be RCB’s star, who produced mesmerizing spell in the death overs. Shahbaz Ahmed also played a crucial game. The game changed in favor of RCB after he picked triple wickets.
