After losing five back-to-back T20I matches by the hands of the Indian cricket team, the New Zealand cricket team finally won their first ODI beating India in Hamilton. Ross Taylor, Tom Latham and Henry Nicholls’s incredible performance with the bat helped their side to take a lead of 1-0 in the ongoing three-match ODI series.

Chasing the target of 348 runs, the New Zealand openers Martin Guptill and Henry Nicholls gave a good start to the game adding 85 runs for the opening wicket. Martin Guptill was dismissed after scoring 32 runs, Henry Nicholls continued his class in the middle and scored 78 runs off 82 balls before Virat Kohli dismissing Nicholls with his fielding brilliance.

India’s new sensation KL Rahul stumped Tom Blundell early after he scored 9 runs off 10 balls. Ross Taylor took Indian fast bowlers to the cleaners and smashed them to all the corners of the ground. He gave an incredible performance and went on to score 109 runs off 84 balls. He smashed 10 fours and 4 sixes.
Tom Nathan also gave a brilliant performance and scored 69 off 48 balls, smashing 8 fours and 2 sixes. He stood tall with Ross Taylor, and the duo stitched 138 to help the New Zealand cricket team win their first match.
