India and Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw shattered records and created history by joining the 200-run club in List A cricket. Opening the innings for his team Mumbai Shaw scored his maiden List A double-hundred, in a Vijay Hazare Trophy group stage clag between Mumbai and Puducherry.

Leading the team for the first time in his career, Shaw completed his half-century off just 27 balls. He smashed his century even before the completion of the 20th over. The skipper of the Mumbai team, Prithvi completed his double ton in 142 deliveries at a strike rate of 140.85. During his knock, Shaw smashed 27 boundaries and four sixes.

Prithvi, who has 6 centuries under his name in List A cricket, had the highest score of 150 runs prior to this knock. With this double hundred, Prithvi has become the fourth batsman to score a double-century in the history of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Shaw remained unbeaten on 227 (152 balls) as he registered the highest score by a captain in men’s List A cricket.

Not just this, with his stunning knock, Prithvi has broken Virender Sehwag’s record for the highest score by an Indian player while captaining a team in 50-over cricket. Sehwag had scored 219 runs in an ODI against West Indies during the 2011 home season. With his unbeaten knock of 227 runs, Prithvi shattered that record while leading Mumbai.
