The Hitman of the cricket world once again turned out to be the hero for team India after he played an amazing knock to help India to build a lead over England’s first innings score on Day 2 of the ongoing Pink ball Test match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Though Rohit played an amazing knock but he missed out on a well-deserved hundred.
Day 2 of the ongoing Test match was resumed with Rohit Sharma and India’s vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane for 99/3. Both the cricketers were soon dismissed trapped into a spin whirlpool with England’s Joe Root and Jack Leach bowling in tandem. The Indian opener tried to sweep the ball but missed it altogether and the impact was the umpire’s call, which was out, and hence he had to return back to the pavilion.
All thanks to a sensational knock from Rohit Sharma, the hosts were able to surpass the first innings target of 112 runs given by the England cricket team. However, he was dismissed after playing an amazing knock of 66 runs off 96 balls, smashing 11 fours. On the other hand, his partner Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed after scoring 7 runs.
Following their dismissal, the Indian batting line-up collapsed as India lost wickets in quick succession. Eventually, team India was bowled out at the end of the first session and they have a first-innings lead of 33 runs.
Meanwhile, fans on social media soon flooded it with their amazing reactions to it. From cricketers, cricket experts to fans, everyone took to their social media to hail the Hitman Sharma for his amazing knock.

Can I please say that @ImRo45 is the best batsman against spin in Indian team?

Rohit Sharma – 66 runs
All others in top-6 – 46 runs #INDvsENG pic.twitter.com/FOP4JNyfDv— ManojkumaRRR (@Manojkumar_099) February 25, 2021
When Rohit Sharma has top-scored and got nearly half the runs, you wouldn’t have expected the only six of the Indian innings to have been bit by Ishant Sharma. This is quite a bizarre Test #INDvENG
