India’s star batsman Rohit Sharma gave a great start to the Indian cricket team as he walked out to open the second innings with KL Rahul. After team India dominated by England for the first two days, Rohit and Rahul finally gave the Indian side a better session to play on the morning of Day 3.
Both the cricketers started the second innings for the Indian side very cautiously while tackling the lethal deliveries from the England cricketers. However, just when the first session came to a close Indian team received a huge blow as they lost the crucial wicket of KL Rahul.
But Rohit Sharma didn’t let the pressure get to his head. And as the game proceeded further, fans witnessed a glimpse of the white-ball Rohit Sharma as he smashed some stunning shots during his knock, including the upper-cut off Ollie Robinson that flew over the slips and landed over the ropes. It was India’s first six of the match on Friday.
Rohit played an amazing knock of 59 runs off 156 balls, where he smashed 7 fours and a stunning six. However, he failed to convert his amazing knock to the triple-digit figure as he was dismissed by Ollie Robinson.
It happened just after the tea, on the fourth ball of the 47th over when Ollie Robinson strikes and did what exactly England wanted. He didn’t give time to Rohit to settle down on-field and fired a full-ball, angling in, on the middle. Rohit wanted to whip it away but the ball hit him on the pads. He was sent back to the pavilion after the umpire’s call.
