Ahead of the 2nd T20I match against England, dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan and run-machine in domestic cricket, Surya Kumar Yadav were handed over their much-awaited debut caps.
Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav have been waiting for their debuts for a long time now. Both the cricketers have been giving consistent performances in the IPL and in the domestic circuit. Both the cricketers played a huge part in Mumbai Indian’s triumph during the 2020 Indian Premier League in the United Arab Emirates.

While Ishan turned out to be the leading run-scorer for MI in the 2020 edition of the IPL, scoring 16 runs at an average of 57.33, on the other hand, SKY had scored 480 runs in 16 games at an average of 40 and a strike-rate of 145.01.
SKY was being referred to as one of the unluckiest cricketers from the country due to lack of opportunities because of lack of opportunities. He was knocking at the doors of the Indian team management for quite a long time now and therefore a wave of happiness went through the Indian fans when SKY was included in the playing XI for India in the 2nd T20I.
Ishan and SKY have replaced Shikhar Dhawan and Axar Patel respectively in the playing XI. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli confirmed at the toss that Ishan will open the innings for team India.
