Test cricket still continues to be the purest form of cricket. It demands patience and temperament of a different level altogether to do well in tests. No matter how many centuries a batsman has in limited overs but a test hundred is always the most special thing for a batsman.
While Test matches are all about patience and low strike rates, some batsmen like to blast the bowlers in test format too.
Some batsman have hit Test centuries as fast as they would have wanted to in limited overs. These batsmen have made test cricket entertaining too and we are thankful to them.
Here’s the list of the fastest centuries in the test format.
Topper of the list is New Zealand’s former skipper and amazingly explosive batsmen Brendon McCullum. Brendon McCullum hit a 54 ball test century against Australia at Christchurch in the year 2015.
Surprisingly no Indian features in the list of top 10 fastest hundreds in test matches. Kapil Dev is at the 12th spot for having hit a century of 74 balls against Sri Lanka in the year 1986 at Kanpur.
