Former cricketer and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday hinted at appointing former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja as the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. The report came out after a meeting between PCB sitting Chairman Ehsan Mani, Ramiz Raja, and Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday.

As per the sources, the current PCB chairman Ehsan Mani wouldn’t be given another term with the PCB. adding that Imran Khan will recommend Ramiz Raka’s name to the governing board for the post of Chairman. Sources also revealed that following the meeting, Ehsan Mani left without speaking to the media.

“In the next few days, the PM will send two names to the PCB’s governing board for the chairman’s election and the members will elect one of them as the chairman,”

The source initially revealed the names of Asad Ali Khan and Mani as the two candidates for the position of PCB’s chairman however, PM Imran Khan decided to go for Ramiz Raja. The source revealed:

“Ramiz appears to be the ideal candidate as he is well educated, well-versed, and has international contacts due to his long years as a commentator. He has also remained CEO of the board in the past and only left due to his time pressing commitments,”
