Indian cricket fans are, arguably, the best fans in the world. They are so good that India is also known as a ‘cricket crazy’ nation. Over the years, we have seen how Indian cricket fans support Team India through thick and thin. On a lighter note, it is a different thing that they prefer limited-overs cricket more than Test cricket. Every time India plays limited-overs cricket in India, stadium are full and fans are right behind their ‘Men In Blue’.
It is noteworthy that in the grand home season 206/17, we witnessed a better turnout in the stadiums as compared to earlier. Fans came out to support Team India, led by their dynamic skipper Virat Kohli, take giant step forward in Test cricket.

1) Virat Kohli- Captain Courageous
Indian captain Virat Kohli plays a very aggressive brand of cricket. He is a very animated character on the field and never backs off from any challenge. While fans and critics have added many adjectives to Kohli’s name and also given him many titles, but for us, Indian cricket fans, he is the CAPTAIN COURAGEOUS, who gives his best every single he steps on the field.
2) Shikhar Dhawan- Smiling Assassin
Shikhar Dhawan plays the game with a big smile on his face. He is a very hard hitter of the cricket ball, but when he interacts with the media and his fans, Dhawan comes across as a very polite and happy-go-lucky man. The right name for our hard-hitting Dhawan is- The SMILING ASSASSIN.
3) Ajinkya Rahane- Mr. Selfless
Ajinkya Rahane is one of the most important parts of Team India’s scheme of things, in Test cricket. He is Virat Kohli’s deputy and one of the most reliable batters, in and outside India. He goes about his job very calmly and stays away from the limelight. He doesn’t care too much about making headlines. He just focuses on his job and just like his idol Rahul Dravid, plays selflessly for the team, always.
4) Rohit Sharma- Lazy Elegance
Rohit Sharma is one of the most destructive batsmen in world cricket. He is a destroyer of bowling attacks at the top of the order. Now, you must be thinking why we are calling his lazy. Well, it’s because of his style. He makes batting look easy and just like former Australian great Mark Waugh, he is called LAZY ELEGANCE.
5) Yuvraj Singh- Comeback King
Well, we don’t need to explain this one too much. Yuvi is the King of Comebacks. Time and again, he has proved that no battle is tough enough for him. We love you, COMEBACK KING.
6) MS Dhoni- Daddy Cool
MS Dhoni is no more the ‘captain cool’ of India. But, he is certainly the Daddy Cool. Over the years, we have seen Dhoni marshall the ship as the captain. But, even now, when he is no more the captain and Virat Kohli has taken over, Dhoni still looks the boss in the middle, making field changes and guiding Kohli on DRS calls.
7) Ravichandran Ashwin- The Clever One
Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the best bowlers in Test cricket. In the last 4 years or so, he has been a wicket-taking machine for India, specially in Asia. On turning pitches, he is almost unplayable. We are naming him ‘The Clever One’ because of the way he outfoxes opposition batsmen with his tricks.
8) Ravindra Jadeja- Flying Gujju
Ravindra Jadeja is one of the top bowlers in world cricket, across all three formats of the game. He is also a more than decent batsman. These two attributes make Jadeja a very good all-rounder. But, the thing we love the most about him is- the way he throws himself on the field and executes those unbelievable run-outs. For us, he is the FLYING GUJJU.
9) Bhuvneshwar Kumar- Silent Warrior
Unlike other fast bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar doesn’t show too much aggression and keeps things very simple in the middle. In the last couple of years, he has worked extremely hard on his bowling and fitness, and presently, he is one of the best fast bowlers in world cricket. Because of his cool, calm and ‘quiet’ approach on the field, Bhuvi is our SILENT WARRIOR!
10) Hardik Pandya- The Dynamic Dude
Pandya is a rising star of Indian cricket. In a very short period of time, Pandya has earned many fans in India. He is always smiling and plays the game with a very positive frame of mind. For this reason, he is our ‘DYNAMIC DUDE’.
