2. MS Dhoni – finishing off the match maximum number of times:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known for his finishing skills. The legendary batsman has finished the match with a maximum on nine occasions in One Day International cricket, which is the most by any player in history.
3. Sachin Tendulkar – Maximum career runs:
Sachin Tendulkar holds the highest number of runs in his international cricket career, having scored 34.357 international runs including 18,426 runs in ODIs and 15,291 runs in Tests.
4. Sachin Tendulkar – Maximum number of centuries and half-centuries:
Sachin Tendulkar is the only batsman in the world to have scored a hundred 100s – 51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs.
5. Narendra Hirwani – Best bowling debut:
Narendra Hirwani was only 19-years-old when he picked up 16 wickets for team India against West Indies in the year 1998, which is still the best figures in test cricket.
6. Rahul Dravid – Maximum catches as a non-wicketkeeper:
Rahul Dravid is regarded as ‘the wall’ of the Indian cricket team. His safe hands have claimed the maximum number of catches as a non-wicketkeeper. He has taken 210 catches in 164 matches, which is still the maximum for any non-wicketkeeper in the cricket world.
7. Rohit Sharma – highest individual ODI score:
Regarded as one of the most destructive batsmen, Rohit Sharma holds the record of scoring the highest individual ODI score. It was in November 2013, when Rohit Sharma scored 264 runs from 173 balls against Sri Lanka, which included 4 boundaries.
8. Virender Sehwag – the maximum number of triple centuries:
Virender Sehwag is the only Indian to have scored the triple century twice in his career. Virender Sehwag, Don Bradman, Chris Gayle, and Brian Lara all of them have scored two triple centuries in his career.
9. R.G.Nadkarni – Most economical bowling:
It has been 50 years since R.G.Nadkarni, the left-hand spinner from Maharashtra has been holding on to this record. Nadkarni has bowled 32 overs for 5 runs at an economy of 0.15 against England in Chennai in the year 1964, where he produced 21 successive maidens and a total of just 5 runs in 32 overs.
10. Yuvraj Singh – Six sixes in an over:
Who can forget Yuvraj Singh smashing six-sixes in an over? The memories of Yuvraj Singh’s powerful performances against Stuart Broad in the year 2007 T20 World Cup are still afresh in everyone’s minds. He is one of the two batsmen and only Indian to smash six-sixes in an over.
11. Anil Kumble – 10 wickets in an innings:
The whole nation witnessed a historic performance in the year 1999 when Anil Kumble sent the entire Pakistani cricket team to the pavilion during the 2nd innings of the second test. Anil Kumble’s 10-74 was the second and last occasion when a bowler claimed all the wickets in an innings.
