Ajinkya Rahane and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are confirmed to play the third test which begins soon at Johannesburg. Ajinkya Rahane will play either at the cost of Rohit Sharma or the all rounder Hardik Pandya. Finally, the team would play with its vice captain and this seems like a welcome change.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar who is the most certain to return to the playing XI and he would play at the cost of Ravichandran Ashwin. The pitch at Johannesburg is a green track and it has very little assistance to offer to the spinners. In South Africa while playing one spinner, Virat Kohli has preferred Ravi Chandran Ashwin over him. This test series will be followed by an ODI series of 6 matches followed by the T20 series. India having lost the test series would look to bounce back in the ODI series and the T20 series to settle the odds with the Proteas.
