2 Changes That RCB Should Make In Their Playing XI After The Loss Against KKR

RCB has unfortunately lost two out of the three games they’ve played in IPL 2024. Their third match took place in Bengaluru, where they went head-to-head with the Kolkata Knight Riders. When it came to batting first, the RCB batters, except for Virat Kohli, couldn’t quite find their rhythm. Kohli had a bit of trouble finding his rhythm as well when the KKR bowlers bowled some slower balls. Despite facing a tough challenge, he impressively notched up 83 runs off just 49 balls, contributing significantly to RCB’s final score of 182 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Many people believed it would be a challenging chase due to the sluggishness of the pitch.

But those assumptions were quickly proven wrong in the powerplay. Sunil Narine and Phil Salt wreaked havoc on the RCB bowlers. Salt managed to score 30 runs off just 20 deliveries, while Sunil Narine outperformed him by scoring 47 runs off 22 balls. He had an impressive strike rate of 213. Venkatesh Iyer had a great innings, scoring 50 runs off just 30 deliveries to support the opening partnership. Shreyas Iyer put up an impressive performance, scoring 39 runs off just 24 deliveries. KKR emerged victorious, defeating RCB by 7 wickets. Now, in this article I will talk about the two changes that RCB should make in their XI for the next game.

2 Changes That RCB Should Make In Their Playing XI After The Loss Against KKR:

#1 Rajat Patidar has to be dropped

He has scored just 21 runs in the three games that RCB has played. Moreover, just before the IPL 2024, he failed in the test series against England as well. Patidar is going through a torrid time. When he is batting, it feels like even scoring one run is tough for him. RCB should drop him and either play Mahipal Lomror or Prabhudesai in his place. Lomror will also give them an aded left hander advantage in the top order. Getting one out of form player who can’t buy a run will boost the batting line up better and help the top order play freely.

#2 Akash Deep should be included in the team in place of Yash Dayal

Yash Dayal has given away 97 runs in the three games and has picked up just 3 wickets. He was severely smashed all over the ground against KKR where he gave away 46 runs in his 4 overs. Akash Deep was brilliant in the last IPL. Moreover, he was even sensational when he earnt his debut against England in the test series. He has good pace and hurries the batter with the new ball. He wan extract movement off the pitch as well and is also deceptive with his slower deliveries. RCB will definitely be in a better place with him in the bowling attack.
