Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is a role model around the world, not just for budding cricketers, but also in the fitness industry. The fitness standards the Delhi-born cricketer has set are incredible with millions across the globe considering him as their inspiration and idol.

What is a Yo-Yo test? What is Virat Kohli’s score on Yo-Yo test?

Kohli has a score of 19 on the Yo-Yo test. The Yo-Yo test is a fitness assessment done by cricketers around the world. In the Indian team, it was Kohli who brought in the Yo-Yo test as a fitness barometer in his captaincy in 2017.

Virat Kohli

For the Indian team, the minimum score for a player to have under Kohli’s tenure was 16.1. Cricketers who were able to score more than this cut-off were only eligible for selection in the Indian team in any format under Virat’s captaincy.

Interestingly, there have been a few players who have recorded a better Yo-Yo test score than even Kohli! Yes.

Here are 3 Indian players who have recorded a higher Yo-Yo test score than Virat Kohli:

Manish Pandey

Manish Pandey is known to be one of the fittest, swiftest, and safest of fielders in India. He’s taken some scintillating catches in his career, showing his elite fitness standards.

So it came as no surprise that Pandey has a Yo-Yo score of 19.2, higher than Virat’s 19.

Manish last played for India in 2021, on the tour of Sri Lanka.

Mayank Dagar

An uncapped player from Himachal Pradesh, Mayank Dagar once posted an Instagram story of his Yo-Yo score that read 19.3, surpassing 19 of Virat.

A left-arm finger spinner, Dagar made his IPL debut in IPL 2023, playing 3 games for SRH.

He was a key part of the Indian team at the 2016 Under-19 World Cup that reached the final. 26-year-old Mayank has 97 first-class wickets in 34 FC matches.
