5 Cricketers Who Were A Part Of The IPL Winning Squad But Didn’t Play A Single Game

5 Cricketers Who Were A Part Of The IPL Winning Squad But Didn’t Play A Single Game: Life works in a funny way for every individual and cricketers are no exception to it. The cricketing fabric across the globe is riddled with ironies that would probably make you question the fact that what exactly has been going wrong. You may be a juggernaut of the sport, endowed with multiple talents and yet when it comes to the prized silverware, your cabinet may be empty.

IPL is one such event that has defined the cricketing careers for many legends across space and time. Virat Kohli leads the run-scoring charts and yet somehow he is still to savour an IPL trophy. Even though it may sound surprising but there are a few whose contributions are pretty insignificant but somehow their resume will feature a column called IPL champion. As mentioned ahead, it is a cruel comedy of God and this would remain the norm until the Big Freeze claims the universe.

In this story, we would take a look at five cricketers whose contributions have been pretty minimal to their respective IPL sides and yet they have the gorgeous silverware adorning their panoply of trophies.

The Afghan opener came on as a replacement for Jason Roy. Going by his newly earned reputation, it somehow felt obvious that he will be starting starting rampage for the Titans. However, the national pair of Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha seemed to be pretty solid at the top of the innings to seal the fate of their opening slots.

#2 Noor Ahmad

The Titans made some decent calculations in the latest edition of the mega-auction and swooped in a handful of impressive buys at fine prices. One such buy was another Afghan cricketer called Noor Ahmad. Sadly, he couldn’t crack into the GT mainframe and would be considered as a future talent.

#3 Dominic Drakes

The Caribbean all-rounder who sparked ripples in the CPL finale, paying his classic tribute to his father, Vasbert Drakes, was another exciting pick who failed to notch up a single game for the Titans. He is an exciting bowling all-rounder who can also be a value addition in the latter half of a T20 innings. However, the Titans had enough depth in their batting already and with Rashid Khan pulling off the crucial role of an all-rounder, Drakes had to warm his benches.

#4 C Hari Nishaanth

It has been two seasons since the Tamil Nadu opener was roped in by the Chennai Super Kings and somehow he is still to get a game. However, in the last year, when Faf and Ruturaj Gaikwad went berserk, Chennai would eventually lift the trophy while Nishaanth would stay witness to the pyrotechnics.

#5 Kanishk Seth

Chennai Super Kings has given IPL trophies to a lot of players with bare minimum contributions from them. Kanishk Seth is one such addition to the list. In 2018, the young fast-bowling all-rounder hit some major stride in the domestic echelons that made Chennai bringing him in. Sadly, he couldn’t get a single match that season and yet can boast of an IPL trophy next to his name.
