Virat Kohli, who is hailed as the modern-day batting legend, finally ended a long wait of 1020 days as he ended his century drought, reaching the three-figure mark against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup Super 4 match in Dubai. Kohli played a sensational knock of 122 runs off just 61 balls, which is the highest score by a batter in T20Is for India. His knock helped the Indian cricket team post a  mammoth total of 212/2.

Virat Kohli was going through a lengthy lean patch, having had last scored an international century in November 2019 at Eden Gardens against Bangladesh. A lot was said and written about Virat’s form amidst his lean patch. However, Virat has managed to silence his critics in style. His 71st international century has come exactly after 2 years, 9 months, and 16 days. This was Kohli’s maiden T20I ton.

While his performance has been receiving appreciation from all corners, on the other hand, his post-match presentation has also won many hearts.

He added: “It is all God’s blessing, I have been working hard and the moment is special for me and team as well.”

Virat On His Century Celebration:

“It [the century] was worth a 1000 words, I am blessed and grateful right now – the last 2 and half years have taught me a lot – this November I will turn 34 so the celebrations are of the past. This celebrations there were lot of thing put into perspective Actually. I was shocked[with the 100] because this is format I least expcted to get a 100,”
