IPL 2021: Indian fans could barely contain their excitement as the second phase of the domestic extravaganza kicks off in less than a week. The tournament started on a rollicking note but bumped into an era of uncertainty as players and staff started testing positive left and right after a bubble breach.
However, after months of planning and scheduling, the tournament is all set to be back on its feet and the second phase of the fray will go forward at UAE and will kick off with a blockbuster clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
This will be an enthralling contest of the bat and the ball as Mumbai has so far managed to post decent showdowns with the ball in the hand that has been accompanied by occasional bursts of hard-hitting. However, Chennai Super Kings has posted rollicking performances in all departments with the team eager to make a comeback after their worst season in the tournament.
As we mentioned Mumbai Indians’ bowling unit, other than the duo of Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah, they also have the likes of Rahul Chahar, the man who has impressed heavily with his leg-spin. In the wake of his emergence, we will look at the five best spinners of IPL 2021.
#1 Rahul Chahar

Chahar has been phenomenal so far in IPL 2021 and he continues to proliferate at a similar rate even in the international circuit. His recent performances grabbed him a prized spot in the T20 World Cup squad. He has been the saviour of Mumbai Indians on quite a few occasions in the ongoing tournament. He has so far claimed 11 wickets from 7 matches and has managed to prise out an economy rate of 7.21 which is like magic in T20 cricket.
#2 Rashid Khan
It seems that Rashid Khan has been the best bowler and the best spinner of the tournament ever since his inception. May it be the first over or the last of the innings, batters are always skeptical about going up against one of the most enigmatic leg-spinners of the world. He has claimed 10 wickets in the tournament so far with an economy rate of 6.14.
#3 Varun Chakravarthy
The KKR mystery spinner is still to be cracked by the most dominant batters of the tournament. Ever since his arrival to Kolkata in 2020, he has been an enigma that would probably need Holmes to crack. He can be ultra-slow at times and there are occasions that see him bowling the googlies confidently, bamboozling the best. He has managed to rack up 7 wickets so far at a decent economy rate of 7.82.
#4 Ravindra Jadeja
No matter how much you detest him, you simply cannot put down Jadeja at any point in time. He is one of the most electrifying players that you would ever come across. He has been thunderous in the field this year but didn’t really get an opportunity to bat much given the scintillating line-up of Chennai Super Kings. However, with the limited bowling that he has done, he has managed to rack up 6 wickets and register an economy rate of 6.70.
#5 Axar Patel
The lanky spinner has really upped his game for Delhi Capitals with a decent all-round display. However, he has been phenomenal with the ball in his arms, especially with his ability to skid the ball through the air. He has managed to snap up 6 wickets so far and has relatively kept the hard-hitters silent with an economy rate of 7.00.
