The ‘Hitman Sharma’ of the cricket world, Rohit Sharma is one of the most talked-about cricketers of India. He has impressed one and all with his powerful batting skills. There’s nothing better to watch than Rohit Sharma’s batting when he gets going.

He has given many brilliant performances, however, he has not always been the luckiest one for team India as there have been many times when his heroics went in vain as India ended up on losing side.

5) 95 vs West Indies at Ahmedabad in 2011:




In 2011, the ‘Men in Blue’ were chasing the West Indies’ score of 260 runs to win. Rohit Sharma walked in to bat in the 9th over after the dismissal of Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, and Virat Kohli and team India was tottering at 3 wickets for 43 runs only.

However, Rohit Sharma walked in and took the match with a storm. He shared a partnership of 91 runs with R Ashwin for the 7th wicket before Sunil Narine sent R Ashwin back to the pavilion. Rohit Sharma posted a total of 95 runs off 100 balls, with the help of 10 fours and a six.

However, he became the ninth wicket to fall in the innings and team India was eventually bowled out for 244 and lost the match by only 16 runs and the efforts of Team India went in vain.

4) 138 vs Australia at Melbourne in 2015:

It happened before the 2015 World Cup when India toured Australia, during the second match of the tri-series between India, Australia, and England.

The match turned out to be a one-man show. Opening the innings for Team India, Rohit Sharma scored a total of 138 runs off 139 balls, with the help of 9 fours and 4 sixes. Despite his amazing performance, the Indian cricket team lost the match by 4 wickets.

3) 106 vs South Africa at Dharamsala in 2015:

This happened during the first T20 of the long tour to South Africa when Rohit Sharma smashed his first T20 international century and became the second Indian to have scored centuries in all the formats of the game. During this knock, he was unstoppable and amassed 106 runs off just 66 balls, with the help of 12 fours and 5 sixes. With the help of Rohit’s knock, team India poted a total of 199 runs at the end of 20 overs. However, with the help of quick half-centuries from AB de Villiers and JP Duminy, the South African team achieved the target of 2 balls to spare.

2) 150 vs South Africa at Kanpur in 2015:

Playing against South Africa at Kanpur in 2015, India was chasing a total of 304 for victory. Rohit Sharma was dismissed during this match in the 47th over but he played a magnificent knock of 150 off 133 balls, with the help of 13 fours and 6 sixes. If he stayed there for a few more overs, team India would have won the series.

1) 171* vs Australia at Perth in 2016:

Recently, Rohit Sharma once again became the victim of scoring big but in a losing cause. Well, during the first ODI of the bilateral series, where the ‘men in blue’ got off to a good start after winning the toss. During this match, Rohit was eyeing the third double hundred of his ODI career. Playing yet another brilliant knock, Rohit scored 171 runs and recorded an amazing partnership of 207 runs, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli helped team India to score a big total of 309 runs.
