Mumbai Indians are the most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League, having won the title four times. Though the team didn’t win any title until 2013, however, they have been unstoppable ever since Rohit Sharma took over the responsibility of the skipper.
Several big names including the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, Trent Boult, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, and many others, however, not everyone player bought by the MI will get an opportunity to play in the league. Just like many other cricketers, who were a part of the Mumbai Indians squad but never got the opportunity to perform.

1. Josh Hazlewood:
This might come as a shock to many but the current Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood was a part of Mumbai Indians during the 2014 edition of IPL. During that season, IPL was played at UAE and the team management didn’t use Josh Hazlewood’s services.
Later in 2015, Josh suffered an injury and the team decided to replace him with New Zealand’s opening batsman Colin Munro. In the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League, Hazlewood will be seen playing for Chennai Super Kings.
2. Colin Munro:
Colin Munro, who was signed as the replacement for Josh Hazelwood in IPL 2015. However, MI already had a solid top-order in 2015, because of which Munro didn’t get any chance to play. Later, Colin played for Delhi Capitals.
3. Nicholas Pooran:
Another foreign player, who was a part of the MI squad that won the IPL in the 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League. However, he didn’t get an opportunity to showcase his talent as Mumbai Indians used Parthiv Patel as their wicket-keeper.
4. Phillip Hughes:
Phillip Hughes’ tragic death was one of the most heartbreaking moments. Very few people know that Phillip Hughes was once a part of the Mumbai squad that won the 2013 edition of IPL but never got the chance to play the game.
5. Kuldeep Yadav:
Kuldeep Yadav was also a part of Mumbai Indians during the 2012 edition of the Indian Premier League but he didn’t get the opportunity to play any game. In the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League, where he will be seen playing for Kolkata Knight Riders.
6. Alex Hales:
Alex Hales, who is regarded as one of the best T20 batsmen. It was in 2015 when Alex Hales got his first IPL break for Mumbai based franchise. He was picked as a replacement for Corey Anderson. However, team management went for the experienced player Lendl Simmons and Alex didn’t get any chance to play.
