The game of cricket is really exciting to watch especially when games go down to the wire. The shorter formats of the game have produced some incredible matches and their most thrilling aspect is the last ball sixes that have cropped up every now and then.

One ball to go, one big hit to win the game and some players have stepped up when it mattered the most. Here’s a short video on last ball sixes:

Azhar Mahmood:

The Pakistani all-rounder plies his trade in the English county scene and is also known to play the big innings when required. Here, he hits a massive one to get Surrey over the line in a T20 versus Gloucestershire.

Darren Bravo:

The younger Bravo took his T20 side, Trinindad to a memorable win in the CPL. Needing 6 off 1 ball, Bravo put away a short one to the cover region, clearing the stadium with ease. Just what the doctor ordered.

MS Dhoni:

In a legendary over, Dhoni smashed 23 runs off Axar Patel that culminated in two major sixes in the last two balls of the over, cementing his legacy once again as one of the most lethal finishers to have ever played the game.

Liam Plunkett:

The Englishman is known more for his bowling, but he stepped up when his country needed him and smashed one over long-off. Needing 7 off 1 ball, Plunkett tied the match for England versus Sri Lanka with the last ball hit.

Ryan Harris:

The Australian domestic league has seen some superb knocks and Ryan Harris pulled a rabbit out of the hat with his innings. Needing 5 runs off the last ball, he smokes one over extra cover to win the South Australian Redbacks the game.

Javed Miandad:

The most famous last ball six in history maybe belongs to Javed Miandad. In a crunch India-Pakistan encounter, the Pakistani smashed a hapless Chetan Sharma for six and win Pakistan the game in the last ball.
