Yuvraj Singh smashing six-sixes in an over is regarded as one of the most iconic knocks of his career. The memorable knock of Yuvraj Singh took place during the 2007 World Cup, which took place in South Africa, where he created history by smashing back-to-back six sixes off Stuart Board.

1. Sir Garfield Sobers – Nottinghamshire, 1968:

Sir Garfield Sobers was regarded as a trendsetter in his time as he created a trend, which is still a dream to many cricketers. He made history on August 31, 1968, which was described as a ‘five in one cricketer’ by the great man Sir Don Bradman. Sir Garfield Sobers smashed 6 sixes in a single over in first-class cricket against Malcolm Nash of Glamorgan while playing for Nottinghamshire as captain.




2. Ravi Shastri – 1985:

It took 16 years to break the record of Sir Garfield Sobers, and it was done by Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri in the year 1985. During a Ranji Trophy Match between Bombay and Baroda, Ravi Shastri became the second cricketer in the world to smash six sixes in an over. He smashed six sixes in an over against left-arm spinner Tilak Raj and achieved this feat. Ravi Shastri also went on to score the fastest ever double century in first-class cricket history.

3. Herschelle Gibbs – South Africa, 2007:

The opening batsman of South African team Herschelle Gibbs became the first cricketer to smash six-sixes in an over in the One-Day International (ODI) format of the game. Gibbs achieved this feat during World Cup 2007  at St. Kitts, Basseterre. This was the first time when a cricketer had smashed six-sixes in an over at the international level.

4. Yuvraj Singh – India, 2007:

The former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is regarded as one of the most destructive batsmen. Yuvraj Singh went all guns blazing during the World T20 in 2007 between India and England, where he smashed  Stuart Broad for six ruthless maximums in an over. It is regarded as an instrumental effort by Yuvraj Singh in helping team India win the World Cup 2007.

5. Alex Hales– Nottinghamshire, 2015:

Alex Hales has emerged out as one of the go-to-men of England cricket team. He has given many memorable knocks in his career while playing for the England cricket team, however, he achieved this feat playing for Nottinghamshire during the Natwest T20 Blast against Warwickshire, where he smashed six-sixes in an over from Boyd Rankin.

6. Hazratullah Zazai- Kabul Zwanan, 2018:

Another player to achieve this feat is Hazaratullah Zazai, who continued his good run of form in the Afghanistan Premier League 2018 by smashing six-sixes in an over for Kabul Zwanan against Balkh Legends during the 4th game of the tournament. Abdullah Mazari, a left-arm spinner, who was making his first appearance in the tournament was taken apart by Zazai, who made it a nightmare for the spinner.

7. Leo Carter –  Canterbury Kings, 2020:

Leo Carter became the latest cricketer to enter the elite list of cricketers who smashed six-sixes in an over. He became the 7th cricketer in the world to score six sixes in an over on January 05, 2020, when he smashed six sixes in an over, playing for his team Canterbury Kings against Northern Knight at New Zealand’s Twenty20 tournament Super Smash.
