MS Dhoni‘s Chennai Super Kings thrashed Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets in the final clash of the 2023 season of the Indian Premier League, which was played on the reserve day on Monday after the rain washed out the play on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
The IPL 2023 final witnessed rain, thunder, lightning, a revised target, and whatnot, but it was all worth it. CSK fought against all odds and emerged victorious.
CSK successfully chased down the target of 171 runs in their given 15-overs quota in the nail-biting final. For the yellow army, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja smashed a stunning six and a four on the last two balls of the nail-biting clash to seal the historic win for the Chennai Super Kings.

The run-machine, the batting superstar, Virat Kohli once again gave it all for his team Royal Challengers Bangalore as he smashed back-to-back centuries in virtual knockouts. Kohli played a stunning knock in a do-or-die game between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT). He stayed till the end and scored his second 100 of the season. His first 100 had come against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
6. Yahasvi Jaiswal’s fastest half-century in IPL history:
Yashasvi Jaiswal was sensational throughout the tournament, playing many memorable knocks for his side. He smashed the fastest fifty in the Indian Premier League history. He played a superb knock of 98 runs in total and reached his half-century in just 13 balls on May 11, 2023, in a game against KKR.
5. Rinku Singh’s Thrilling Finish:
Rinku Singh stole the show and became an overnight sensation after he gave a solid finish to his side. He produced an incredible performance for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the side’s 2023 Indian Premier League game against Gujarat Titans.
KKR needed 28 to win off the last five balls and he smashed five consecutive sixes to take his side home.
4. Arshdeep Singh Breaking The Stumps Twice:
In a game against Mumbai Indians, Arshdeep Singh left everyone awestruck with his insane last-over bowling at the Wankhede Stadium. With MI requiring 15 from four, Arshdeep produced two consecutive stunning yorkers, right in the blockhole to get rid of Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera, who had walked in as an Impact Player, in a similar fashion. He broke the stump (which is worth ₹24 lacks) on both occasions.
3. Shubman Gill Knocking RCB and MI Out Of IPL 2023:
Sensational Shubman Gill smashed back-to-back centuries and shattered the dreams of RCB and MI to get their hands on the trophy. Gill outclassed Kohli as GT knocked RCB out of IPL 2023 with a 6-wicket win. He later played a 129 run knock to knock MI out of IPL 2023. He was sensational throughout the season and emerged out as the leading run-getter of the season.
2. Sunil Gavaskar’s Fanboy Moment:
The batting legend and former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar ran towards the CSK captain MS Dhoni and asked for an autograph on his shirt.
Gavaskar, who was a part of the commentary team for IPL 2023, stood firm when Dhoni signed his shirt and then they gave a warm hug to each other.

MS Dhoni, who is known for not expressing his emotions, couldn’t keep calm when Jadeja smashed a six and a four to win the title for Chennai Super Kings.
