KL Rahul
The Bangalore based cricketer has shown tremendous talent and good temperament, but has not been able to achieve his highest standards, due to injuries. His recent setback has kept him from being included in the international scene for a while. He will be looking forward to the Sri Lanka series for a comeback.
Manish Pandey
Manish Pandey has always shown great promise as a youngster, and has been intermittently in the senior squad for a while now. He is an attacking middle order batsman and has shown promise as an opener. His side strain will keep him out of the side for a while.
Varun Aaron
The Jharkand lad has shown considerable talent as a fast bowler, with good height, and a better short ball. However, injury has kept him back for most of his career, with major injuries such as quadriceps and hamstring injuries which have nagged him for a while.
Ishant Sharma
The Delhi Launda is one of India’s experienced bowlers currently, having been an integral part of the test squad for the last decade. His ankle, hamstring, and knee injuries have kept him out of the fray for quite some time now.
Mohammed Shami:
The front line pacer has been a victim of consistent injury, which has pegged him back from front line cricket for a while, and while fit, has been one of India’s front line bowlers. Persistent knee injuries have held him back from becoming one of India’s spearheads in the longer and shorter formats.
Ashish Nehra
While ankle injuries have held him back, Nehra makes ususally the strongest of comebacks. One of Dhoni’s go-to men during the toughest of times, he will be looking to have a golden twilight period to his career and stay injury free for a while.
Manoj Tiwary
Manoj Tiwary has had very limited time in the Indian team, and evcen his domestic career has been plagued by injury. Shoulder and knee injuries have plagued him for a while now, and this has hindered him from making the big break to the senior team.
