7 Players Who Have Remained Unbeaten In The 90s Most Times In The IPL

Last updated:

The India Premier League (IPL) has served as a platform for all players to come and showcase their cricketing talent to the world. Many youngsters and even veterans have used this stage to either build or revive their careers. To bat in high-pressure situations is not an easy thing because thousands of fans are sitting in the stadium and millions are watching at home.

Even in this situation, some players have managed to score 100s in the IPL. However, not everyone has been so lucky. In this article, we will look at the seven players who were stranded in the 90s for more than one time in the IPL.

Shikhar Dhawan – 3

Shikhar Dhawan has played for four franchises in his career and has been one of the most successful Indian players in the IPL. Dhawan is a part of Delhi Capitals right now. He is yet to score his maiden IPL 100, but he has been unbeaten in the 90s thrice. The recent most occasion was in 2019 against Kolkata Knight Riders, where he was not out on 97*.

Jos Buttler – 2

Jos Buttler was in sublime touch during IPL 2018, while playing for Rajasthan Royals. In the space of three days, Buttler was left stranded in the 90s twice. Against CSK, he was not out on 95* while in the away match against Mumbai, he was stranded on 94*.

Chris Gayle – 2

Chris Gayle holds the record for the most hundreds in IPL history, but there could have been two more additions to that tally had he scored 8 runs against Mumbai in a match of 2013 as he was unbeaten on 92*. Gayle was also not out on 99* once in his career.

Virat Kohli – 2

Virat Kohli has the record of most IPL centuries in one season to his name. However, in 2013, he missed a well-deserved 100 against SRH as he was not out on 93*. A few years later, playing against MI, Virat was not out on 92*, but RCB lost that match.

Virender Sehwag – 2

Famous for reaching the milestones in style, Virender Sehwag was not out on 94* and 95* in his IPL career. It happened against DC in 2008 and Mumbai in 2013, respectively.

Shane Watson – 2

Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has been a legend in the IPL. The former RR player was not out in the 90s twice. He was once stranded on 90* against Pune Warriors and then on 98* against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

David Warner – 2
