Shaheen Afridi came on to deliver the 31st over for Pakistan in the match between Bangladesh vs Pakistan. He came to bowl from round the wicket and bowled a jaffa. The Bangladeshi superstar Mahmudullah faced a ball of absolute brilliance on the fourth delivery of that memorable over. Mahmudullah was stunned as the ball pitched on a beautiful length and swung away from the right-hander.

The ball slid elegantly to the top of the middle stump, kissing Mahmudullah’s pad. The ball struck the stumps with such force that a tremendous “thud” reverberated around the stadium. Despite playing a good innings, Mahmudullah was forced to leave with 56 runs off 70 balls. Bangladesh’s hopes faltered and shook as a result of this wicket, which marked a key turning point in the contest.

After 31 overs, Bangladesh was at 133-5 when the dust settled. Mahmudullah had already scored a century against South Africa and now had an incredible half-century to his credit. Fans were glued to their seats as they watched Pakistan attempt to snap a four-match losing run in the competition with this titanic clash.

Pakistan managed to restrict Bangladesh to 204 runs and the Bangla Tigers lost all their wickets in 45.1 overs. As Pakistan seeks to climb up the World Cup table, they will look to build on this triumph and carry the momentum forward. The road ahead will be challenging, but this win against Bangladesh serves as a reminder of the talent and potential that Pakistan possesses.
