“I am four kilos down from dengue..” – Shubman Gill Gave A Major Update About His Health

India’s star opener Shubman Gill came agonizingly close to scoring his maiden century of the ODI World Cup 2023 Century, however, he was dismissed by Sri Lanka’s Dilshan Madushanka during the World Cup 2023 game between India and Sri Lanka on Thursday.

Shubman Gill looked in great touch as he took the Sri Lankan bowlers to the cleaners and ended up slamming 11 fours and 2 massive sixes. He was just 8 runs away from a much-deserved century when he edged a delivery straight to wicket-keeper Kusal Mendis behind the stumps.

Meanwhile, following his stunning knock of 92 runs against Sri Lanka, Shubman Gill revealed that he is still working on regaining full fitness after being sidelined for the first two matches of the 2023 Cricket World Cup because of dengue.

Speaking at he post-match conference, Gill revealed that he lost four kilograms due to the illness, and he is still recovering from the muscle and mass loss. He revealed:

“Not in full fitness. I am four kilos down from dengue in terms of mass and muscle weight. The odd ball was seaming and I hit the balls in my areas. You couldn’t get into a shell. I looked to put pressure on the bowlers. I felt in the previous matches I got starts except the last one. We thought about rotating the strike today. I honestly don’t think it was a 400 wicket. We batted well to get 350,”

Shubman received standing ovation from Sara Tendulkar

The crowd at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was left stunned with Gill’s dismissal and the reaction of Sara Tendulkar – the daughter of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and the rumored girlfriend of Gill – went viral on social media.
