List Of ICC Cricketer Of The Year From 2004 To 2022: The ICC awards were introduced in 2004. The ICC rewards the best performing man and woman cricketers in the year in ODI, Test, and T20 formats, and one award for the Cricketer of the year. Rahul Dravid was the first player to win the ICC Cricketer Of The Year Award.
India’s Virat Kohli has swept up the most number of awards: Kohli has so far won 9 ICC awards, including the Player of the Decade award. Kohli is one of the four Indians – other than Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and R Ashwin – to win the ICC Player of the Year award, and only Kohli Mitchell Johnson and Ricky Ponting have won this award twice.
The Pakistani duo of Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi were the latest recipients of the ICC Cricketer Of The Year Award in 2022 and 2021.
This award has been shared once: in 2005 by South Africa’s Jacques Kallis and England’s Andrew Flintoff. Only two Englishmen – Jonathan Trott and Ben Stokes – have won this award. Only won West Indian, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, is in this list.

Meanwhile, the ICC has announced the nominees for the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year 2023 award. The Indian trio of Mohammed Shami, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill will be competing with New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell for the best ODI player of the year 2023 award.
Kohli and Gill are also in line to win the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2023 after their exploits throughout the year. However, the Australian pair of Travis Head and Pat Cummins have stepped up at crunch moments last year, resulting in Australia winning the WTC Final and the World Cup.
