[Watch] Rohit Sharma Or Hardik Pandya: Yuvraj Singh Picks The Captain For T20 World Cup 2024

Indian legend Yuvraj Singh has thrown his weight behind Rohit Sharma, backing the 36-year-old to lead India in the T20 World Cup 2024 over Hardik Pandya.

The debate among the fans, and possibly among the BCCI selectors, rages on whether India should continue with Rohit Sharma as their skipper for the T20 World Cup 2024 or should go with a younger option in Hardik Pandya. The T20 World Cup 2024 will be hosted by the West Indies and the USA in June.

In an event on Saturday, Yuvraj Singh was asked about his opinion on the captaincy conundrum. While the left-hander initially refrained from speaking on Hardik’s fitness status, he then pointed to Rohit Sharma’s success as a captain in white-ball cricket. After lifting 5 IPL trophies as the Mumbai Indians captain, Rohit marched India to the World Cup 2023 final, though the team lost the final at home.

Yuvraj hailed Rohit as one of the greatest-ever Indian captains in white-ball cricket.

Yuvraj Singh said:  “Rohit Sharma is a great captain, he has won 5 IPL trophies, he took us into final, he is one of the great captains ever in IPL & India.”

Under Rohit Sharma, India had also reached the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final, losing the knockout game to England.
