[Watch] Rohit Sharma Plays A Rare Reverse-Sweep Shot In 3rd IND vs AFG T20I

India captain Rohit Sharma became the first-ever batsman to notch up 5 T20I centuries when on Wednesday he played a sensational knock of 121* runs in 69 balls against Afghanistan on what was an atypically two-paced Chinnaswamy surface.

That this knock came with India struggling at 22/4 at one point makes it even more incredible. Rohit Sharma got a very able partner in Rinku Singh, who remained unbeaten on 69 runs in 39 balls. The pair shared a mammoth partnership of 190 runs in 95 balls, propelling India to a total of 212, which was way beyond par on this two-paced pitch that also offered plenty of turns.

Rohit Sharma, who had been dismissed for ducks in the previous two games, creamed 11 fours in his innings along with smashing 8 eye-catching sixes.

One of those sixes was from an outrageous reverse-sweep stroke. Rohit seldom plays the reverse sweep, but today, with the pitch playing tricks, the right-handed brought out the reverse sweep multiple times. He missed a few of his reverse sweeps, but when he connected it sweetly, off the bowling of left-arm spinner Sharafuddin Ashraf, it went for a six. He reversed his stance, switched his grip, sat on his knees and played a brilliant sweep that a left-hander would be proud of.
