England fans have complained of the lack of cleanliness and hygiene at the Hyderabad Stadium during the first Test match against India. It was also learned that the gate police had confiscated sunscreens, England flags, and water bottles.
Getting support from the Indian fans, too, netizens slammed the Hyderabad Cricket Association for the poor and unhygienic arrangements at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium during the first Test.
While the England fans danced and sang as Ben Stokes‘ team recorded a historic victory, coming from behind to win the Test by 28 runs, they were left frustrated and annoyed by the authorities at the Hyderabad stadium.
Several England fans took to Twitter and Instagram to express their dismay at the poor and lack of proper facilities at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. They were dissatisfied with the inadequate arrangements for spectators at the Hyderabad stadium.
One fan took to Twitter and uploaded a video of a dirty toilet at the Hyderabad stadium:
He captioned the video with a sarcastic tone: “Sun cream, water and flag taken by security/police on the gates. Then not selling any bottled water or sun cream in the ground. Everything extremely dirty too. Lovely toilets to boot. Can’t wait to come back for more tomorrow”

A member of England’s supporter’s traveling group, The Barmy Army, revealed to The Telegraph that they were not provided with water and sunscreen after theirs had been confiscated at the gate. They were left with filling water in their popcorn buckets.
Chuck Adolphy, a tour manager of The Barmy Army, said, “You can’t bring anything in other than a phone and a wallet. You are not allowed sun cream, water, or even empty bottles. There are water dispensers in here, which we hope are filtered, with lots of long queues. But if you can’t bring a bottle in it’s difficult to fill up. There’s been no water on sale. The solution today has been fans buying popcorn, eating it, then queuing to fill the paper bucket the popcorn is served in with water, which obviously isn’t the best situation for a couple of reasons. We feel that it’s fair enough not to let people bring stuff in, we were ok with that, but to then have nothing on sale [is not ideal].”
Fans during the World Cup 2023 faced similar issues at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
The second Test match starts on February 2nd in Vizag.
