Will Rohit Sharma Leave MI – With only six weeks to go before the start of the IPL 2024 season, Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, created a huge stir among the fans on social media with her comment under the Instagram video of Mumbai Indians head coach Mark Boucher explaining why the franchise replaced Rohit with Hardik Pandya as their new captain.
Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction in December, Mumbai Indians announced that all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who had been traded back to MI after spending two seasons with the Gujarat Titans, would lead them from the next season onward, bringing an end to the decade-long captaincy stint of Rohit Sharma, who led the franchise to five IPL titles between 2013 and 2020.
Since then, a huge section of Rohit and MI fans have attacked the MI management and the owners for their decision.
Head coach Mark Boucher recently spoke on the Smash Sports podcast where he said that the switch in captaincy was purely a “cricketing decision”. Rohit’s wife, Ritika, commented, “So many things wrong with this.”
This created a huge storm on social media, which led to Smash Sports channel deleting the video.
Reports in the past month have emerged that Rohit Sharma is unhappy with being removed as the captain, even though he is still India’s all-format captain and is expected to lead the national team in the T20 World Cup 202 in June, following the IPL.
Is Rohit Sharma leaving Mumbai Indians before IPL 2024?

No. Even though rumors suggest Rohit Sharma is unhappy with the franchise removing him as their captain, the 36-year-old is set to play another season with MI and is not going anywhere.
The only way now, after the auction, Rohit could have left MI was through a trade, but for that, any other franchise must have had a leftover purse of INR 16 crore, which is his current salary at MI. Since no other franchise has this much amount left in their purse after the auction, Rohit cannot be traded away.
