IND vs PAK: 10 Best Tweets On Arshdeep Singh’s Dream Spell

On his first ball in T20 World Cup, 23-year-old Arshdeep Singh sent the hundred-thousand-plus crowd at the MCG crowd into pandemonium as he dismissed the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam showing off his terrific swing bowling ability.

The match between the two arch-rivals got underway on Sunday in front of a jam-packed MCG crowd and Arshdeep Singh had the ball on a thread as he troubled the Pakistani batters in his almost-perfect bowling spell.

Arshdeep Singh’s brilliant spell will be remembered for decades

Arshdeep was given the second over of the match, instead of the senior seamer Mohammed Shami, and the left-arm pacer delivered instantly, trapping Babar Azam in front of the stumps with a ball that swung and seamed into the right-hander.

The Indian contingent at the MCG erupted with Azam’s wicket while the Pakistanis were stunned too early in the game. And it did again when on the last ball of his second over, Arshdeep bounced out the other opener, Mohammad Rizwan.

After troubling Rizwan with his sideways movement blended with some extra bounce, Arshdeep went short to which Rizwan played a mistimed hook shot. A thickish top edge went toward deep fine leg where Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a comfortable catch, remaining calm amid the noises behind him.

Arshdeep returned in the 17th over to bowl his remaining two overs and once again delivered a key wicket – that of power-hitter Asif Ali. And not with a yorker, but with another short ball. Knowing the weakness of Asif Ali, the young pacer went short delivering a sharp bouncer which hurried onto Asif who was in no position to play a shot. He got into a tangle looking to duck the ball, but managed a glove to wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik.

3 overs, 3/19 seemed perfect, but Shaheen Afridi spoiled Arshdeep’s figures by hitting a 4 and a 6 in his last over. Nonetheless, it was a spell to remember for a long time for Arshdeep and the Indian fans.

Netizens fired up Twitter with tweets hailing Arshdeep Singh.
