Talking about the ongoing Test match between India and England in Dharamsala, the hosts dominated Day 1. England, led by Ben Stokes, won the toss and chose to bat first. They faced a tough challenge from Indian bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, who showcased impressive swing bowling skills.

Despite a promising start by England’s openers Zak Crawley (79) and Ben Duckett (27), India’s spinners turned the tide. Kuldeep Yadav’s five-wicket haul and Ravichandran Ashwin’s four-wicket haul dismantled England’s batting lineup, limiting them to just 218 runs. India then showcased a strong batting performance, with Yashasvi Jaiswal (57) and Rohit Sharma (52*) leading the charge with a solid opening partnership of 104 runs. Shubman Gill (26*) also contributed as India ended Day 1 on a high note at 135-1, trailing England by 83 runs.

Akash Had Dedicated His Debut To His Father

In his debut match in Ranchi, Akash Deep showcased his talent by taking three wickets against England. His impressive bowling in the morning session troubled England’s top-order batsmen. Akash finished with figures of 3/70, contributing to India’s victory. He dedicated his performance to his late father, fulfilling his dream of seeing him succeed in cricket. He said:

“I dedicate my debut to my father. I wasn’t able to do anything in life when he was alive and he dreamed that I do something good in life… so I dedicate this performance and debut to him.”

Akash Deep is set to join Royal Challengers Bangalore for IPL 2024.
