Breaking: Yashasvi Jaiswal Eyes Don Bradman's Historic Test Ratings Record

Young India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has had such an incredible start to his Test career that is now inches away from Sir Don Bradman’s historic record of ICC Test ratings!

In the 5-Test series against England at home recently, Yashasvi Jaiswal became only the second Indian batsman ever to amass over 700 runs in a Test series.

He blasted 26 sixes in the series, including a flurry of shots against James Anderson. His 26 sixes are now the highest in a Test series by a batsman, breaking the record of 19 sixes set by Rohit Sharma in 2019 at home against South Africa.

The young left-hander finished with 712 runs at an average of 89 with two centuries and 3 fifties. Against the Bazballers, Jaiswal scored his runs at a strike rate of 79.91, and he converted both his centuries into double hundreds, both ending up in victories for India.

Yashasvi Jaiswal stands behind only Don Bradman and Mike Hussey in all-time ICC rating record

Jaiswal had made a century on his Test debut last year in the West Indies. The youngster now has racked up 1028 runs in his Test career of 9 Test matches, and he averages 68 with three tons – two of which are double centuries – and four half-centuries.

Yashasvi Jaiswal now has an aggregate of 740 rating points. In the ICC records, only two batsmen ever have attained a higher rating – Don Bradman (752) and Mike Hussey (741).

That Jaiswal’s name is being taken in the same breath as Bradman and Hussey already tell you how special this young batsman is.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Entered The Top 10 In Latest ICC Test Rankings

Yashasvi Jaiswal bagged the Player of the Series award against England for his incredible feat of 712 runs.

Rohit Sharma, the India captain, said about Jaiswal: “I can talk about him now. Guy’s got a long way to go. Started off really well. This is amazing to be in this position for him personally. We saw through the series he wants to take on the bowlers and that is something that we want to encourage. When the guy’s got talent like that, who can play the shots like that, puts bowlers under pressure from the word go, that’s something that we want to encourage and something we want to take forward.”
