Chennai Super Kings seamer Deepak Chahar got trolled on Twitter, even by CSK fans, after the franchise posted a picture of the pace practicing in the nets at the Chepauk with a red ball!
The IPL 2024 season will get underway on March 22 in Chennai. Defending champions CSK, led by MS Dhoni. will host Faf du Plessis’ RCB in the opening game of the tournament.
The players have started to arrive to train in the nets for their franchises. Most of the Indian contingent of CSK – barring those who are playing in the Ranji Trophy final or featured in the Test series recently against England – have arrived in Chennai and began their net practice in the nets. Including MS Dhoni, the CSK skipper, and also Deepak Chahar, who is set to lead CSK’s pace attack this season. Chahar has been with the franchise since 2018 and has been part of three title-winning campaigns.
On Wednesday, CSK posted a picture of Deepak Chahar on Twitter from the nets at the Chepauk. However, he got trolled as the ball was a red ball.

Deepak Chahar eyes comeback in IPL after long layoff
Chahar last played a high-level game on 1st December 2023, a T20I against Australia. It is because of illness to his father, for which he missed the white-ball matches in South Africa. His father had suffered a brain stroke, but, thankfully, he has recovered now. To tend to his father, and be with his family, Deepak Chahar missed the Ranji Trophy for Rajasthan.
“For me, my father comes first. I am here only because of him. Whatever I have achieved is because of my father. If I am not there for him in those situations, then obviously, what kind of son I am?” Chahar told PTI a couple of months ago.
With his father doing well now, the 31-year-old has turned back his attention to cricket, looking forward to the IPL 2024.
