[Watch] MS Dhoni Hits Bravo For A Six During Practice; Then Celebrates With Arms Raised

MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo shared a hilarious moment during CSK’s practice session at the Chepauk recently. Dhoni and Bravo share a great brotherly bond and it was seen when the CSK captain celebrated with his arms raised after smacking the West Indies pacer for a maximum in the practice session.

MS Dhoni is someone who rarely shows his emotions – be it happiness or frustration. So the fact that the 42-year-old made a mini-celebration – which is still huge coming from Dhoni – tells you how much he enjoyed getting one up over Bravo, who is two years younger than Dhoni.

A video from CSK’s practice session has gone viral on social media. In the video, Dhoni can be seen slogging Bravo for a six on the legside before celebrating it.

A long-maned Dhoni moved across the off-stump and hammered a slot ball from Bravo on the deep mid-wicket region for an epic six. Bravo had his hands on his hands and let out a big laugh, while MS Dhoni raised his arms in celebration to tease Bravo.

Ahead of the IPL 2023 season, Dwayne Bravo had announced his retirement from the IPL. Bravo, who played for Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, and CSK in his IPL career is the second-leading IPL wicket-taker with 183 wickets; Chahal overtook him last year.

Bravo won three IPL titles with CSK, in 2011, 2018, and 2021. After retiring from IPL, Bravo was appointed as CSK’s bowling coach, replacing L Balaji. He was on the staff last year when CSK won its fifth IPL title.

A couple of years ago, MS Dhoni had lavished praise on Bravo’s elite death-bowling skills, and affectionately called him a “brother”.

Dhoni said: “I call him my brother. We always have the fight every year as to whether he needs to bowl so many slower balls or not.”

โ€œHe is an ace when it comes to this format. He has played all over the world, in different conditions, whenever the team needs him, he has taken up responsibility and done well for us,โ€ Dhoni added.
