During the chase, with the team under pressure, the former RCB captain made a humorous remark. It happened in the 13th over while he was at the non-striker’s end, facing left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar as he prepared to bowl to Glenn Maxwell.

As Brar approached to bowl, Glenn Maxwell paused as he wasn’t ready to face the ball. While Brar walked back to his bowling mark, Kohli humorously remarked, “Rukja behenc**, saans to lene de” (roughly translated to: hold on, let him breathe). Kohli had used a similar comment for Ravindra Jadeja during RCB’s match against Chennai Super Kings last week.

Brar had the final laugh when he dismissed Maxwell on the first ball of the over. The left-arm spinner aimed for the off stump, and Maxwell attempted to create space for a shot through the off side. Unfortunately, he ended up chopping the ball onto his stumps.

In the match against PBKS, Virat Kohli played a crucial role with the bat as RCB secured their first victory in IPL 2024. Chasing a target of 177 runs, RCB managed to reach the target with four wickets in hand and four balls to spare.

While other RCB batsmen struggled, Kohli remained steady, scoring 77 runs off 49 balls with 11 fours and two sixes. He was dismissed by Harshal Patel in the 16th over. Later, Dinesh Karthik (28* off 10) and Mahipal Lomror (17* off 8) played vital cameos to seal the thrilling win for RCB.
