Suresh Raina Wrote A Special Tweet For Ishan Kishan After His Terrific Knock Against South Africa

India’s young batter Ishan Kishan suffered heartbreak as he missed out on scoring his maiden ODI century in the second ODI against South Africa at JSCA Stadium in Ranchi. Ishan made his ODI debut when the Indian cricket team made his ODI debut when team India toured Sri Lanka for an ODI and T20I series in 2021. Ishan Kishan looked at his very best against the Proteas.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, the South African team scored 278 runs in the first innings of the 2nd ODI.  Chasing the target, Ishan walked out to bat after Wayne Parnell got the important wicket of Shikhar Dhawan when India was chasing 279 to draw level in the ongoing 3-match series.

Ishan formed a crucial 161-run stand with Shreyas Iyer for the third wicket. Kishan got to his 50 off 60 balls and looked great to get to his maiden ODI hundred. He entered the 90s with a massive six-off fast bowler Anrich Nortje, who was pulled over the leg-side boundary. The shot showed the form Kishan was in, however, as soon as the cricketer was about to score his maiden ODI century, he holed out to Reeza Hendricks while smashing the tweaker over the leg-side boundary.

Ishan was left disappointed and was on his knees after missing his century. He went back with the stunning scores of 93 runs off 84 balls with the help of 4 fours and 7 sixes.

Meanwhile, social media has been buzzing with reactions. From fans to cricketers and experts, everyone took to their Twitter to hail the brilliance of Ishan Kishan. Among many, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina also took to his social media and penned down a special post for the young opener.

In his Tweet, Suresh Raina hailed the ‘fabulous innings’ of Ishan and praised him for being terrific on-field. He wrote: “What a fabulous innings by @Ishankishan51, well played Ishan you were terrific on the field today as always ๐Ÿ™Œ #INDvsSA”
