Pakistani Statistician Trolled Mohammad Rizwan

Pakistan cricket team endured a nightmare on Sunday as their side faced a 23-run defeat in the summit clash of Asia Cup 2022 against Sri Lanka, at Dubai International Stadium. The Babar Azam-led side, who were playing for their third Asia Cup title, were bundled out at 147 in the chase of 171 runs. While there were many disappointing factors in the game that led to Pakistan’s downfall, however, it was the wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan’s slow knock of 55 runs off 49 balls, that disappointed the fans and cricket experts the most.

Mohammad Rizwan received a lot of flak from a section of people on social media. From hilarious memes to harsh criticism, the keeper-batter was trolled left, right and center for his slow knock. Among many, a popular cricket analyst and statistician from Pakistan, named Mazher Arshad, took to his social media and highlighted the performance of Rizwan in Playoffs/Finals in T20s since 2020, where Rizwan had scored 311 runs off 277 balls in 8 games he has played, with a strike rate of 112.27. The Tweet went viral in no time and was flooded with reactions from the fans. While some people bashed the cricketer for his performances, there were many who came out in support of him. A fan tried to defend Rizwan by saying that the cricketer plays without any pressure. The fan wrote: “BTW these stats are showing that he didn’t take the pressure in knockout games”

Responding to the same, Mazher Arshad took a hilarious dig at Rizwan for his slow knock. Trolling Rizwan, Arshad stated that the opener puts pressure on others. He wrote

Yes cos he put that pressure on others
