Wicketkeeper Sanju Samson once again failed to make the cut to India’s squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022. On Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced much-awaited India’s T20 World Cup 2022 Squad. While there were some surprising names in the squad, however, it was the absence of Sanju Samson from both the playing XI and stand-by that hogged all the limelight.
Sanju Samson has been in and out of the Indian cricket team for the past couple of years, however, he has failed to cement his place in the Indian cricket team. Despite his brilliant performances in the Indian Premier League, the cricketer hasn’t got many opportunities to showcase his skills at the international level.
Though it was largely along expected lines and has only a few changes from the fifteen-man squad, that took part in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022, but the fans were left disappointed with BCCI for ignoring Samson once again. Meanwhile, the squad also marks the return of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, both the cricketers who were ruled out of the recently-concluded Asia Cup 2022, because of injury issues. While Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the squad, Axar Patel has been named as his replacement.
