The BCCI has reportedly been left furious and unhappy because of the reason of Ravindra Jadeja’s injury that has all but ruled the all-rounder out of the T20 World Cup starting mid-October in Australia.
One of the key components of the Indian team – the absence of whom left the side in a disarray during the Asia Cup Super 4 round – Ravindra Jadeja was injured ahead of the Super 4 round’s first game against Pakistan.
Axar Patel likely to replace Jadeja in the T20 World Cup squad

Jadeja suffered a ‘freak’ injury on his right knee – the same knee which caused him to miss the West Indies ODI series in July – and the left-hander had to return home early and quickly undergo surgery.
Jadeja reportedly has been ruled out of next month’s T20 World Cup as well and only a confirmation from the BCCI is left.
The BCCI is at the moment furious because Jadeja suffered this injury during an “absolutely unnecessary” ski-board activity.

As per a report in the Times of India, Jadeja was asked to undergo some water-based training activity in the ‘backwater’ facility of Team India’s hotel in Dubai. The all-rounder incurred the injury while doing this training.
“He had to balance himself on some kind of a ski-board as part of an adventure activity – not part of the training manual at all. It was absolutely unnecessary. He slipped and twisted his knee badly, which led to a surgery,” a source in the know of developments told TOI.
BCCI officials really angry with this unforeseen injury of the star all-rounder
There are questions raised within the board that whether such sort of activity was even required.
“What’s surprising here is, Head Coach Rahul Dravid hasn’t ‘lost his cool’ given how the injury occurred. Ideally, one would have expected Dravid to question this entire process. All said, the bottomline is – India will travel to Australia without Jadeja,” sources added.
In all likelihood, Axar Patel will get into the T20 World Cup 15-man squad if Jadeja is ruled out. Axar got to play in the Afghanistan game on Thursday.
Patel has done well in white-ball cricket this year, however, his batting is not at the level of Jadeja’s, so that’ has presented a selection conundrum for the Indian team because then they have had to play Rishabh Pant as the only left-hander while benching Dinesh Karthik.
