Virat Kohli has been struggling to score runs ending the England tour without scoring a single half-century across all formats. Kohli’s current form has become one of the most talked-about topics in the cricket fraternity, with several experts and cricketers giving their opinions on his form. With the T20 World Cup 2022 and Asia Cup 2022 just around the corner, Kohli’s form has become a grave concern for the Indian cricket team.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli will make his return to international cricket on Sunday when the Indian cricket team will lock its horns against arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai. Ahead of the much-awaited high-voltage clash, Kohli opened up about his recent dip in his performances across all the formats. Speaking on Star Sports show Game Plan, Kohli said:

“I know where my game stands and you cannot run this far in your international career without having the ability to counter situations and counter conditions and counter different kinds of bowling. So, this for me, is an easier phase to process, but I don’t want to put this phase behind me,”

He added: “What happened in England was a pattern, so something that I could work on and something that I had to kind of overcome. Right now, as you rightly mentioned, there is nothing that you can point out saying that the problem is happening here,”

The Indian cricket team will kickstart their campaign in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 with a high-voltage clash between India and Babar Azam-led Pakistan. Kohli, who had led the Indian cricket team to the T20 World Cup last year, had smashed a fighting half-century against the Babar Azam-led side, however, the Indian side suffered an embarrassing defeat.

Further, Kohli shared his sacred experiences, whatever he has experienced in the past and during the tough phase that he is in. He said:

“I know there are ups and downs, and when I come out of this phase, I know how consistent I can be. My experiences are sacred to me. Whatever I have experienced in this phase or in the past, as well one thing that I can. So, this for me, is an easier phase to process, but I don’t want to put this phase behind me. I want to learn from it and I want to understand what are the core values that I have, as a sportsperson and as a human being,”
