One of the all-time greats, Brett Lee has said that he would love to bowl to Rishabh Pant, the superstar India keeper-batsman who has emerged as one of the most destructive all-format batsmen in the world.
Rishabh Pant’s career has changed since his heroics in the Border-Gavaskar series on the last trip to Australia. Since then, he’s solidified his position in the Indian team in all three formats and became the captain of his IPL franchise, Delhi Capitals.
Brett Lee explains what makes bowling to Rishabh Pant difficult
Brett Lee has had some great battles in his career against the Indian batsman such as Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and VVS Laxman. Lee, who boasts of a total of 111 international wickets against India, said that he’d love an opportunity to bowl to Pant, adding that Pant’s funkiness adds to the bowler’s dilemma.
“I had the pleasure of playing against Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli at the start of his career, (even) Virender Sehwag. I think someone like Rishabh Pant would be very exciting to bowl to,” Lee said during a fan interaction on sportsbet.io
“He’s pretty nifty, walks around the crease, is very aggressive, and is the one guy I’d like to challenge myself against. I’ve had the pleasure to meet him a few times, and he’s pretty unorthodox, which would make it very hard to bowl him to. He would probably hit me for a six, but that’s ok!” the former Australian speedster concluded.
