Suryakumar Yadav Insulted Yuzvendra Chahal Like Never Before

Suryakumar Yadav Insulted Yuzvendra Chahal Like Never Before: The Indian team registered an emphatic 4-1 win in the T20I series over the West Indies earlier last week. The last two T20Is were played in Florida, both of which India won; after the series, few Indian cricketers and their families decided to stay further in the USA and enjoy a mini-vacation before they return to training for the Asia Cup.

Among those who stayed back were batsmen Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer along with leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. SKY and Chahal were with their wives on the tour.

Suryakumar Yadav trolls ‘missing’ Yuzvendra Chahal

On Saturday, Suryakumar uploaded a hilarious Instagram story trolling Chahal. Suryakumar’s wife, Devisha Shetty, had first put up a story of the couple along with Shreyas Iyer and Chahal’s wife, Dhanshree, from Miami writing, “about last night”.

Suryakumar uploaded the same story again, this time trolling Chahal who wasn’t with them. “Sorry @yuzi_chahal23 we dint miss you,” Suryakumar wrote with couple of laughing emojis.

Meanwhile, both Suryakumar and Chahal have been named in India’s 15-man squad for the Asia Cup; and Shreyas Iyer is in the three standby players. While Chahal was rested for the T20I series against West Indies, Suryakumar and Iyer batted in 4 matches each and performed well.

SKY finished as the leading run-scorer in the series with 135 runs in 4 innings, those runs coming at a brilliant strike rate of 168. Shreyas Iyer failed to make a mark in these first three knocks, before in the last T20I, when he got a chance to open, he hit a fifty.

Overall, Iyer finished with 98 runs at a lowly strike rate of 119. Iyer’s T20I numbers post the IPL 2022 – average of 24 at strike rate of 121 in 10 innings – have been ordinary, and coupled with his short-ball weaknesses, meant that there was no place for him in the 15-man squad for the Asia Cup.

India’s squad for Asia Cup:

Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, R. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan

Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Deepak Chahar have been named as standbys

India’s first Asia Cup 2022 match is against Pakistan on August 27, in Dubai.
