Sanjay Manjrekar Takes A Dig At Brendon McCullum: The 5th Test match between Team India and England at the Edgbaston Stadium came to an end on Tuesday, with the hosts losing the game by 7 wickets. The Ben Stokes-led side got the better of the Indian cricket team in the 3rd and 4th innings of the match. They first managed to bowl out India for 245 runs and then chased down the target of 378 runs. The 5-match Test series ended in a draw 2-2.

What is Bazzball?

This was England’s fourth Test win under the guidance of new head coach Brendon McCullum in four Test matches. Ever since Brendon McCullum has taken over the job of the head coach of the England Test team, the team is being linked with the word ‘Bazzball’.

During the final match between India and England, ‘Bazzball’ was one of the top trends on social media. Everyone — from cricketers, experts to fans- was talking about the Bazzball. For the unversed, Bazzball is the England Test squad’s newfound fearless approach in the longest format of the game. This approach by Brendon McCullum requires the cricketers to be ultra-positive while batting and always fighting for victory.

As social media is buzzing with tweets on Bazzball, former Indian cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar came up with a hilarious Tweet while talking about the viral term. In his Tweet, Sanjay Manjrekar took a hilarious dig at Brendon McCullum by writing how Bazzball is similar to what Rishabh Pant is doing since the last 31 Tests. He wrote:

“So what’s Bazball? Well, it’s how Rishabh Pant has been playing in his last 31 Tests.”

Earlier, after the conclusion of the final Test match, Rahul Dravid was asked about his thoughts on the Bazzball concept during a press conference. The team India coach, in his reply, had said, “Don’t really know what’s that. I would definitely say that the kind of cricket they have been playing in the last few months has been really good. They have been really good at chasing. That chasing is not easy in fourth innings in England. Whatever brand of cricket one wants to play, it depends a lot on the players and the kind of form they are in presently. When the players are in good form, you obviously play a more positive game, like we did in that innings where Pant and Jadeja were batting.”
