The Sanju Samson-led team gave consistent performances throughout the season, with Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal scoring Orange and Purple caps respectively.
While, the complete tournament was filled with excitement and thrill for Rajasthan Royals, however, a verbal battle took place between young talent Riyan Parag and Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Harshal Patel in one of the games during the recently-concluded IPL 2022.

Verbal Battle Between Riyan Parag And Harshal Patel

Well, the squabble took place during the second league stage between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune.
The controversy took place after the 20th over, where Harshal bowled and Parag smacked four and two sixes. The 20-year-old ended the stunning innings with a maximum over cow corners, making it 18 runs off the over. After the innings, Parag could be seen walking off the field, this is when he turned around and started having a heated altercation with Harshal Patel, who was later stopped by members of the RR support staff.
After the game Harshal Patel didn’t shake hands with Riyan Parag. An excited Parag had come forward to shake hands with his counterpart but Harshal just refused to do so and just walked past him.

Riyan Parag Finally Opened Up About The Fight
At that time, this incident had become a big talking points and finally, Parag has now broken his silence on the issue. Recently, during a gaming stream for Rooter, Parag opened up on the matter and revealed that a gesture by Harshal Patel from the previous season was on his mind. He said:
“Last year, Harshal Patel had dismissed me when we were playing against RCB. I was walking back. Then, he made a hand gesture telling me to go away. I didn’t see that on the spot. I saw that when I went back to the hotel and saw the replay. It stuck in my mind since,”
He added: “Now, when I hit him (Harshal) in the last over (against RCB in IPL 2022), I did the same gesture. I didn’t say anything, I didn’t abuse. But then, Siraj called me. Harshal didn’t say anything”
Further, Parag went onto revealed Mohammed Siraj’s role in the fight and even called Harshal’s decision to not shake hands with him “immature”. He said:
“When the innings ended, Siraj called and said, “Hey, come here, come here’. He said, ‘you’re a kid, behave like a kid’. I told him, ‘bhaiya, I’m not saying anything to you’. By then, players from both the teams came and it ended there. Later, Harshal didn’t shake my hand. which I thought was a little immature,”
